Attraction 1 Nanya Rock Formations (南雅奇石)
The Nanya Rock Formations, renowned as one of Taiwan's 36 hidden gems, predominantly showcase coastal erosion formations. The rocks here are shaped differently due to varying rates of erosion and resistance to sea winds, resulting in a unique landscape with uneven and varied-depth rock formations. Besides the 'Ice Cream Rock' and 'Bamboo Shoot Rock,' the famous 'Sea Dog Rock' is also present. This location stands as one of New Taipei City's most abundant geological and topographical landscape resources.
Attraction 2 Remains of the 13 Levels (水湳洞十三層遺址)
Remains of the 13 Levels, also known as the Shuinandong Smelter, was constructed in 1933 and served as a crucial facility for ore sorting and refining precious metals during the Japanese colonial period. It was the largest refining facility for gold, silver, and copper ores in the Shuinandong, Jiufen, and Jinguashi area in the past. With the passage of time, the once-thriving mining industry gradually declined, leading to the cessation of operations in 1987. It has since transformed into a renowned tourist attraction.
Attraction 3 Jiufen Old Street (九份老街)
Once a flourishing center for gold mining, Jiufen earned the moniker 'The City of Golden Mountains.' The settlement thrived with the influx of miners in search of gold, but as the gold rush declined, tranquility settled in. Along the gently sloping hills, Jiufen Old Street beckons with narrow lanes lined with various shops. The air is filled with the enticing aromas of traditional delicacies. Visitors must try Jiufen's classic snacks like taro balls, meatballs, and grassy cakes. Additionally, the street offers an array of quaint antique toys and unique Taiwanese souvenirs, providing travelers with a diverse shopping experience.
Dinner Takao Super Midtown Richardson Branch (前鎮水產-德立莊店)
Takao Super Midtown Richardson Branch is conveniently situated near Exit 4 of the Ximen MRT Station, offering over three hundred varieties of ingredients for everyone to choose from. Upon entering the ingredient supermarket area, visitors follow a path that leads through sections featuring small dishes, sushi, seafood, meats, vegetables, desserts, beverages, chilled noodles, and other items. In the middle, there is a unique display of fresh fruit popsicles in a refrigerated cabinet, while nearby wooden cabinets showcase a variety of wines and international instant noodles for selection.
