About Taipei
Taipei, located in a basin in the northern region of Taiwan, was historically inhabited by indigenous peoples until Chinese settlers arrived approximately three centuries ago.
The eastern part of Taipei remained largely undeveloped until the 1970s when the city embarked on transforming the area into a bustling financial and commercial hub. In this district, the modern essence of Taipei comes to life, characterized by gleaming glass and steel skyscrapers, spacious boulevards, and the iconic Taipei 101, the tallest building in the world.
Taipei is also renowned for its numerous world-class performance venues, providing opportunities to indulge in exceptional theater and concert experiences. Moreover, the city offers diverse entertainment options, including shopping malls, vibrant nightclubs, lively live-music bars, high-quality hotels, and an array of exotic dining establishments.
